I know! I know! I feel like I never have time to update Eva's blog... We have been so busy these last few weeks. My Mom keeps calling to tell me that she has been checking Eva's blog and that there have been no new changes; and I keep thinking, "I will write today"... but, today fades away into tomorrow and I don't write. The last few weeks have been wonderful, busy, crazy and beautiful, but not altogether exciting, until yesterday. Because, yesterday, it snowed. And, Eva liked the snow so much! I set her in her activity center and pulled open the blinds and she watched the snow for nearly an hour. She sat and made the cutest noises and shrieks of joy at the sights she saw... so adorable. But, when Granpa came over, he took her out in it and she was not so excited; I guess, the cold got her! :)
Eva's mobility has improved drastically over these last two weeks, but she is still not crawling. She can scooch all over and roll wherever she wants to. I love watching her find her way around the house and she is always getting herself into everything. I have a feeling that I will look back on these times and laugh at myself, because she isn't really into everything- yet. I am sure the toddler days will be thrilling!
Eva had both sets of grandparents visit her over the weekend. And, she loves both sets! She laughed a lot with Lola and walked all around the room with her. Granzie and Granpa (Ellis) came over yesterday and showed her the snow and played with her. Eva told me that the weekend would have been perfect if she could have seen her cousin Kate! Kate is growing so fast, we saw her weekend before last and she is so cute. Our babies are growing up so fast; I think that I feel it so much more acutely when I look at Kate. I do not see Kate very often (not often enough) and it seems like every time I see her, she is vastly different, bigger, cuter... these are fun days but I still find myself wishing I could freeze time just to savor it a little bit more.
This week will be crazy, I have meetings with my first doula clients! And, I have a doula workshop this week, too! I have joined the Georgia Birth Network (it rocks, Nichole! just in case you ever read) and I am so enjoying learning from the many wise women who love birthing and being doulas! :) Ronnie is studying and trying to do some ebay sales to make money... crazy times in the Doane house. But, through all the craziness, we have the sweetest little girl who reminds us every day that raising her is our most important job. I love being a MOM!
